Strategic IT Assessment

An eight-week, Partner-led review of your IT program — Infrastructure, End-User Services, Security & Compliance, Governance, AI Strategy & Governance, and Business Partnership — that produces a living roadmap, not a slide deck destined for a shelf.

What it covers

The Assessment evaluates the core areas of the IT program — including the company's emerging AI strategy, policy, and governance posture — and delivers actionable short- and medium-term priorities to close the most important gaps. It includes interviews with the leadership team, key stakeholders across the business, and core IT vendors.

The framework

Our framework flows from business vision to executable plan:

  • Vision — the company vision and where IT needs to go to support it.
  • Business Priorities — requirements prioritized jointly with business partners.
  • IT Capabilities & Objectives — the IT capabilities needed to deliver those priorities.
  • IT Strategies — the strategies selected to build those capabilities.
  • Activities & Milestones — the specific work plan and delivery milestones.
  • Three-Year Roadmap — a living document used to plan, monitor, and update over time.

What you get

A detailed output for the client sponsors and a high-level output for the leadership team. A prioritized roadmap, a framework to update it as conditions change, and internal consensus behind the plan.

Commercial terms

The Assessment is a fixed-price engagement, typically eight weeks. It's billed 50% on signature and 50% on acceptance of the final presentation. Expenses are billed separately; invoices are payable within 30 days. Actual cost depends on the size and complexity of the company, the number of interviews required, and whether the work is delivered onsite or remote.

After the assessment

The Assessment is designed to produce a living roadmap, not a one-time deliverable. Many clients continue with TPP on a Fractional CIO basis to execute against it — but there's no expectation that they will.
